Q. Is your rice gluten-free?
A. Ours is "naturally" gluten-free, in the sense that rice does not naturally contain gluten. In our factory, we do not grow, use or package cereals that contain gluten, so there is no risk of contamination. We cannot write it on the label because it is forbidden to write gluten-free on rice (on the contrary, it is mandatory to write that it may contain gluten if cereals containing gluten were also packaged in the same factory).
Q. Why is it never written on rice packages that it is gluten-free?
A. We cannot write it on the label because it is forbidden to write gluten-free on rice (on the contrary, it is mandatory to write that it may contain gluten if cereals containing gluten were also packaged in the same factory). It can be written if rice is one of the ingredients of the product and the manufacturer can guarantee the presence of gluten less than 20 ppm (parts per million)
Q. Which of your products are suitable for people who are gluten intolerant?
A. Those that are gluten-free are:
all our rice, so we are talking about Carnaroli rice, Arborio rice, Baldo rice, Sant'Andrea rice, brown rice, black rice, red rice, Apollo rice
rice flours are gluten-free
but also rice biscuits, rice pasta (certified gluten-free and also suitable for those allergic to nickel), rice biscuits are gluten-free and ready-made risottos (except Panissa)
